Project: Affordabl Art Fair Streetscape Mural
Amazon Art, in conjunction with the Affordable Art Fair, selected Piero Manrique as its 2015 Spring Artist-in-Residence. Each day of the fair, Piero was on-site creating an urban landscape mural measuring 12' wide by 9' tall in the Amazon Art Lounge of the Metropolitan Pavilion. Manrique chose to paint the mural on 9 canvas panels. He used a brilliant color palette plus dramatic perspectives to depict the vitality of New York City's street life. The mural was a big hit with AAF attendees. Many stopped to take photos of the mural and of Piero at work. Piero's fine art paintings were also exhibited at the fair in the UGallery booth.
The Affordable Art Fair is an international, contemporary art fair held in different cities around the world, including Amsterdam, Bristol, Brussels, New York, Milan, London, Singapore, Hamburg, Seoul, Toronto, Stockholm, Hong Kong and Maastricht. Globally, over 1.6 million people have visited an Affordable Art Fair and purchased over $367 million worth of art.
